When Hannah was 2, she was playing on the bunk bed ladder. Amber, 4, decided her sister should get off and made sure it happened. So at 2, Hannah had a spiral fracture in one leg. This resulted in a cast that covered the whole leg and part of the other leg with a bar between the two! Patience was definitely learned that summer in Indiana.

OH MY GOODNESS, SCOTT

Hoooooowww did you all get through it? Advice is welcome!

Poor little Hannah! And Amber had to heft some guilt/responsibility...so hard.

That was over 18 years ago, so most of the burden fell on Lisa. She was full time mom while I got to run off to work! Hannah was pretty chill about it. She is low key naturally. About once a week, she would throw a fit, get it all out, and then move on.

I might need a consult with Lisa.

WOW!!!! I love love love that you got to take that trip with your cousin! Maybe 1% jealous and 99% ecstatic for you!

And will so be praying for you baby - and everyone else will who be tasked with lifting his spirits. I hope the resilience of youth will help with his healing and his outlook during the healing. Also, having just gone to my orthopedist on Monday because of some knee pain, can I tell you how different his x-ray (the knee part) looks from mine? Lots of nice spacing between those bones. Me - we're really close to some bone on bone action. Oh to have the knees of our youth again. #glorifiedbodies #cantwait

Love you, friend! Big hugs to all the Stevens family.

Maaaaannnnn, listen. The things our bones are carrying us through and have carried us through…you are a miracle.

Thank you for your prayers. We can use them.

And thank you for being (mostly!) excited for us. 😂 It was mostly amazing and a bucket list trip.

I'll pray for you all weekly, and probably check in from time to time to see what prayers are most urgently needed. :-)

Praying for you all tonight. Hope the healing is progressing, and the forced patience / waiting is not too painful. ;-) Hugs to you all!
