Thank you for doing what you need to do for you and the fam. I would pay regardless of how often you post because I'm not THAT kind of consumer. I pay to give you the space that you need to do the "work your soul must have" but I respect when and if you ever bring that option back. I suspect that I am not the only one. :) Also thank you for these musings
“I have been present in the places where presence is absolutely vital.” As a fellow mother in a season of intensive caretaking (and first time homeschooling, by necessity), SAME. It feels so good to find words written from the place where I’m at, a place from where it is so hard for words to find their way to publication (or posting). I’m currently making my way, slowly, through Soil by Camille Dungy and her words also meet me in this profoundly domestic place. Thank you for your delightful offering here.
Oh, solidarity. I know some parents who can seemingly juggle EVERYthing. That ain't me. And homeschooling is such an intense privilege--but it involves academics AND character development AND discipline AND walking the tightrope of mother and teacher (it's a thin tightrope).
Beautiful. I'm *always* grateful when you're words show up my inbox. No matter how long it is between times. Thank you for giving us some of your moments and words and soul. And thanks for the shout out 😘
Love hearing from you. But even more so, I love you and your family. I'm thrilled at the idea of you all enjoying the gentle kiss of cooler temps before the heavy weight of the heat returns. Thanks for the update on your world and the ruminations that make me think.
BTW, love that you all listened to "The Hobbit" on your road trip this summer - even more that Andy Serkis narrated it. I'm currently re-watching Season 1 of "The Rings of Power" so I'll be ready for Season 2 that started recently. Whenever I see you all again, I can't wait to hear what you think of it.
Regarding the extravagance of the first season - I really hope so. It was so visually stunning, and I feel like they were telling a great story. (I don't have the baggage of being a hyper-fan, so they can't disappoint me with what is / isn't in there or any liberties they take; so I get to enjoy it for what it is.)
And I look forward to seeing you all whenever it works. But no rush - I figure that it'll happen when you're able, and that's great by me! :-)
I love this Sharifa. Relateable, totally relateable. I have some something similar in my health and wellness business. Some information for women is absolutely free. #1, everyone is "selling" health and #2 my morals and work ethic dictate that I be different. LOVE THIS! Here's to life, real time and real things! We will still support you!
LaShanna, thank you! I feel supported by your comment! I am so relieved that you can relate. I love that you are working to ensure that your creative ethic aligns with your economic ethic aligns with your life ethic. We'll keep working toward that balance of honoring the value of our labor.

Thank you, brother, for the encouragement nestled in your comment.
Of course

Love ya, sis

Take care, friend, and enjoy your week!
I need to rewatch, too! I wonder if this season was as extravagantly produced as the first? It was beautiful to watch, though!
Imma text you. We need a date on the calendar.
