girl holding bowl on grayscale photography
perhaps i should write something ubiquitous
leave blanks
fill in names
photos
for the next time
bullets leave
dead
children
perhaps i should hold my son

perhaps i should put my cheek to his nose
leave space
feel his breath
still here
for the next time
bullets leave
dead
children
perhaps i should just move on

perhaps i should keep working
leave grief
feel blank
bullet proofed apathy
worship productivity my god
my god
dead
children
perhaps safety is for other people

perhaps molech reigns too powerful
my god
the guns
my god
leave the bullets
my god
take the children
my god
resignation is worship

Perhaps we’ve formed a society that prioritizes power and sacrificing anything to hold it. Just a heart rending thought 💔
